That's not true at all. The Wachowskis (their actual professional name since Lana came out in 2010) said that conveniently decades after the movie was released to fit their agenda.
Yes, that's why the Wachowskis said that. Not because saying it out loud gives it power that they weren't ready to give it in 1999, but are now that they're both out trans women.
