Trump's unfavorables are vastly overstated, and in a Trump-Clinton election, a lot of "hold your nose and choose" votes will happen. By the tens of millions. Polling in this matchup means virtually nothing.
However, it is possible to make inroads. No, he will not win any minority group outright, but I guarantee he can only move up from his current stance. Trump catered to a certain portion of the GOP that elected him in primaries that the other candidates did not appeal to. For the next 6 months with changed stances and tones he can greatly mend fences and change the game. Remember, 6 months ago Ben Carson was beating Trump...lots of things can happen.
