The year is 1944. The U.S has been battle scarred- in 1941, a joint German-Japanese attack on the United States proved a crushing blow, causing the U.S to intervene in the Great War. President Roosevelt's "New Deal" passed. In 1943, a German assassin had shot Roosevelt at the University of Ohio during a pro-war rally. The assassin fired five bullets from a revolver and one struck Roosevelt in the upper chest, he was driven to a hospital but was pronounced ad three hours after, at 4:45 PM. President Cordell Hull is in a hard position, he must continue the New Deal and win the war in Europe. He doesn't really face an opponent in the primaries, but several in the General Election. Former VP Nominee and General Douglas MacArthur is the frontrunner, running because Hull is not "letting him use full resources" to take Japan down. Stassen is another Commander, who resigned his post to fight in World War 2 but is accusing Hull of not trying to fully win the war. The rest are basically politicians, not favored to win, but Dewey has had tremendous support.

(Vote one Dem, and one GOP)

LAST MINUTE VOTING:President Hull likely won Dem. Nomination. Republican Nomination is a three way race between General and Former VP Nominee Douglas MacArthur, Commander and Former Governor Harold Stassen who resigned to serve in the military! Also Businessman and failed 1940 candidate Wendell Wilkie!!!

The Democratic Nomination goes to President Hull after a very active Draft-Byrd campaign. Byrd is seen as a potential 1948 contender. Commander Harold Stassen has won the Republican Nomination.
