I just heard my mom mumbling "Kushner, Kushner, Kush-Kushner" in her sleep.

Prayers for your mom, Jacobin. I'm sure hoping she'll be out soon Smiley

Since 1993 I've appeared 31 times on an official ballot (including primaries and party offices). This morning I announce that I won't be on in 2018. I'm timing the announcement to occur before my big western road trip which starts on Friday. Petitions for 2018 start circulating just after Labor Day, everyone will know my plans well in advance.
I didn't know you are a politician! Where did you run?

And congrats on all those years of politics!

muon2 is a Illinois State Representative and former Mayor of West Chicago. It's always been a common knowledge.

State Senator, I believe.

No, State Rep.

I thought about it and I'm gonna try to take a long break from this forum and politics in general. I might come back when the Democrats aren't a giant disappointment and/or I stop feeling bouts of depression from this political environment. Right now none of this is good for my mental health.

Understandable -- I took a healthy break post-election for this reason. Hopefully you're able to return soon; I'll miss your commentary on OC elections!

You're better off without her, JA. Still sucks, but you deserve more than that.

I'm the happiest I've been in a really long time. I started talking again to this girl I met last month as a friend, but stopped talking to for a couple weeks because I was still with my ex then went through that breakup, and we clicked so quick. I hate talking on the phone, but when talking to her time just flew; have so many shared interests, are incredibly comfortable with each other (like no anxiety even), and it's just pretty great. We're going out next week, spending the whole night together going all over town.

Nice! Have fun!

Lok, that sucks. Just remember that, without people like you, God knows how many of those situations would have ended in tragedy.

In lighter news, tomorrow I'm going to try and collect twenty signatures in support of an on-campus Democratic Club at my high school. Since I hate asking people to do things for me, and I try to avoid talking politics in non-political settings, and I'm also not naive enough to expect one in five of the people who sign to actually attend meetings... I'm not looking forward to it. Tongue

Got all of them. As expected, about four in five were conditional on not having to attend meetings, which is stupid but whatever

I have deleted all of the information on my phone. I am currently in the process of downloading it again, so I can delete it again, and then download it a second time.

So, how are your Saturday nights going?

I’ve spent the past two hours poring over the minutiae of California’s migrant education policy, specifically pertaining to our English Language Learner curriculum. #JustAtlasThings
