Johnson is a really good candidate. If only he was more charismatic...

Maybe he's going for extreme socially liberal young voters who care little about economics.  That's my only guess.
This.
^ he's going for the pro-Marijuana, anti-spying young voters who hate Hillary's foreign policy

To answer your questions, Shadows, Johnson supports gay marriage, although he believes churches should have the right to refuse to hold ceremonies. I'm not sure what his exact stance on the environment is.
Johnson has stated that the best environmental practices are due to a good economy.[7] He says "America needs to be a land with a clean environment," and supports "clean-air and clean-water action and believes in conservationism." He cites the Environmental Protection Agency as an example of good government.[14] Johnson has stated he agrees that human carbon emissions do impact the climate. However, he opposes mandatory cap-and-trade policies, and favors allowing private businesses to build more coal-fired power plants, creating jobs.[15]
