In 1967, if anybody predicted that the next three presidents would be (in this order): an ex-vice president; the House Minority Leader; and a state senator from Georgia, they'd be quite rightly seen as crazy.

Rudy Guliani (2009-2017)

Barak Obama (2017-2021)

Tim Palewnty (2021-2029)

Not a single one of those names was spelled correctly.  Impressive.

I always find it mildly amusing how people seem to assume that three presidencies down the road, we'll still be tossing around the politicians we have today.

As I said earlier in this thread, why not put yourself in the shoes of somebody in 1967, and try and predict the next three presidents.  If you guessed: a Vice President who left office six years previously; the House Minority leader; and some hick state legislator from Georgia; you win a prize!

Of course, a whole bunch of other years could be picked and you'll find the same effect.

Either;

Fred Thomson for 8 years
Thomson's VP for 8 years (don't know him well enough to predict who that'll be)
Mark Sanford for 8 years

Or;

...

Ron Paul for 8 years
Mark Sanford for 8 years
Tom Tancredo for 8 years

Thirty-two years of uninterrupted Republican control of the White House?  A little optimistic, don't you think?

John Edwards for 1 term
Mike Huckabee for 2 terms
Mark Warner for 2 terms

Who's going to remember who Mark Warner is in 2020?

(Heck, who's going to remember who Mike Huckabee is in 2012?)

Hillary Clinton 2009-2013
Sarah Palin 2013-2019
Bobby Jindal 2019-2023

Why wouldn't Palin and Jindal complete their respective terms?
