Long story short: Governor Martinez hosted a holiday party for her staff in the ballroom of a swanky Santa Fe hotel.  She and six others (including her disabled sister, as she later told the dispatcher) went up to a room for an after party.  At around 4 am, after apparently being warned by hotel staff about the noise and for allegedly throwing bottles off a balcony, the staff called the cops to have them escorted out.

Martinez found out about the call and confronted the front desk, making the same girl call the cops back and put Martinez on the phone.  She then proceeded to try and drunkenly persuade the dispatcher to call off the cops from their "pizza party" and interrogate them as to who made the original complaint.

Needless to say, after shaking off the hangover, she has apologized.

The recordings make the whole story worthwhile.  Smiley

I like her a lot more after this.  She's a tough but fair woman!  Listen to the phone calls, she sounds very kind.

I take it you've never worked in customer service.  Anybody who has will recognize that tone of voice, drunk or not.
