I'm going to retire the use of the newspaper format for presenting the wild card event each week.  It was a nice idea, but it's become fairly obvious that I'm running out of energy and creativity for it.

From now on, I'll just state a brief description of what the wild card was, and its effect.

Of 0%... Sad

The 'bump' reduced both Hudson and the undecideds by 1% each, and increased Xiao by less than 1%... the rounding of the numbers didn't show it.

WILD CARD

A respected veteran US senator from the liberal wing of the Republican Party has decided to snub his party's presumptive nominee, and instead endorse her Democratic rival, Xander Xiao.

Helen Hudson takes a hit in the polls, while Xiao and the 'Other' candidates register a small bump.

* This week, both campaigns held fundraisers in Illinois and Pennsylvania.  As the Hudson campaign submitted campaign instructions first, her campaign received priority for the remaining credits available in those states.

WILD CARD

A controversial attack ad campaign launched by a conservative 527 group against Xander Xiao has caused a dip in his poll numbers, to the benefit of the Hudson campaign, as well as that of the third party candidates.  It has also seen a small rise in the number of undecided voters.

RUNNING MATE ANNOUNCEMENTS

In this stage, our two presidential candidates will announce their chosen candidates for the vice presidency.

As a general reminder, both tickets will be granted a free barnstorming activity and free state visits in the running mate's home state, both of which I'll conduct at the end of this stage directly after the announcements.

This week, Helen Hudson received a controversial endorsement from an organization that the Southern Poverty Law Center has identified as a white supremacist group.  Consequently, her poll numbers have taken a hit.

Meanwhile, Pamela Pickering came under fire for discrepancies in her presidential campaign reports.  Now a major part of Helen Hudson's own campaign, correcting the discrepancies has reportedly cost the ticket 20 credits.

I'm instituting a new policy to hopefully keep things on track here.  Candidates have 72 hours from when the new stage is posted to submit instructions to me.  If I receive instructions after the 72 hours are up, and haven't been given any kind of notification of an upcoming absence or other inability to submit instructions, that candidate will skip the turn.

Remember, your ticket mate can submit instructions on your behalf if you cannot for whatever reason.

This week, Xander Xiao came under fire for discrepancies in his primary campaign reports.  Correcting the discrepancies has reportedly cost the ticket 30 credits.

Meanwhile, Quentin Quinn's private life came under scrutiny, after it emerged that his younger brother was recently arrested for possession of narcotics and DUI.  Consequently, the ticket has suffered a small hit in the polls.

Also are the speakers just Republicans or can Dems speak 2?

Generally if a Democrat speaks at a Republican convention, it's to endorse the Republican ticket and attack the Democratic ticket.  So the speakers don't have to be Republicans, but keep that in mind.  Wink
