Satan's entire purpose is to destroy the lives of people by making them think that everything is great, or by making them feel unworthy, or by simply distracting people. Anyway to get your soul into hell.
God wants what's best, but never enforced His will on people. Everyone one of His "rules" is completely voluntary and He will never coerce you into following them. Then there is the bit about coming to earth and dying for everyone to have eternal life if they choose to accept it.
Ultimate hate is not better than perfect love.
