Not useful or constructive.  His show was already pretty irrelevant by the time he retired due to its drift towards being just partisan leftism.  The Jon Stewart of 2006-2012 could maybe have been an important voice but not the Stewart and the daily show of 12-15.

It's a big fat strawman, a favorite of the post-Bush daily show.  They need easy targets to mock or argue against as the audience cheers them on.

Most Trump supporters I've seen want to take this country off what they see as a dangerous path fueled by political correctness.  Like as Trump argued last night, letting criminals out of jail because they're illegal immigrants.  That's very different from "take this country back from the browns and give it to the whites"

These days "dog whistle" is just leftist for "racism only I can see.". It's such a cheap little free pass to call anything remotely involving any particular ethnicity racism.  And using what sounds like an inner-circle campaign term even makes you sound smart.  2 for 1!
