As usual, this will only help Trump by creating a favorable contrast between him and his opposition, disgusting people on the fence, and sparking a circle-the-wagons mindset in his supporters.

The democratic party could and should be doing far more than it is to put down this kind of behavior.

If there is a real strategy behind Trump "targeting" NY and CA, it's this.  He is going deep into hostile territory with the goal of inciting televised unrest.

The NY targeting strategy was obviously to win a majority and deal a knockout blow to Cruz.

Depends heavily on where the worst of it falls on the spectrum from drunken college unruliness to armed militia shelling Ft. Sumter.  Right now, it's clearly the former and won't matter much but if it gets ugly enough, it will.

I didn't say it would help him much, but whether it helps him a little or a lot it can only help.

It looks like a 3rd world country.  The left extremism is tearing the country apart.

You have the CANDIDATE. TRUMP HIMSELF!!!!!! Heartily encouraging physical violence against protesters and hecklers, and you want to blame THE DEMOCRATS for not doing enough?!?

Congratulations, you're both far, far beyond hacks or capable of making a salient point during intelligent discourse.

Go home and play with your blocks.

So Trump said a few things like "I wish someone would knock him out" and that's supposed to be morally equivalent to the democratic party's silence as thousands of people riot in the streets and commit countless acts of violence?

I only ever hear of violence from Trump's people as one-offs, someone throwing a punch every couple weeks.  That isn't at all equivalent to these gigantic, violent, destructive, illegal "protests" (they're riots, not protests) on the democratic party's side.

Who is this stupid woman on CNN who keeps talking about how this is a "movement" and "the oppressed are rising up, risking their lives to make their voices heard"?  She's very irritating.

Anderson just called her out when she said "this is Donald Trump's fault because people perceive this as being his problem."

So actual repeated straight from the mouth instigations of violence by the candidate himself--followed by violence from supporters against hecklers that video footage has likewise repeatedly shown to be started by the supporters (can't speak to the ongoing fracas in SD), and you're questioning whether it's the moral equivalent of Democrats not objecting to people exercising their right to heckle? Think about it: you and your friends are literally outnumbered 500 to one by an angry mob surrounding you, and we're supposed to believe the hecklers are the ones starting the shoving and punching? Oh wait--consider the severely challenged audience--of course you do.

OF COURSE there isn't any moral equivalency here! Trump's direct instigation of violence are morally FAR FAR FAR worse by any rational standard.

Ah, rational. I forgot there's a reason the bad and absurd post thread is named for you.

Good Day, sir!

There's so much wrong with this post that I don't know where to start.  But Trump's supporters go there to hear Trump speak and the protesters clearly go there to stir up trouble.

Trump has instigated individual acts of violence once or twice.  The protesters have committed dozens if not hundreds of acts of violence.  Because they identify with and are clearly identified with the Democratic party, by not denouncing them the Democratic party accepts them and thereby condones their violent actions.  That is far worse than the one guy who maybe got punched because Trump said he wished someone would knock him out.

Also, when was the last time Trump actually said something like that?  It was months ago.  Lately Trump's just been saying things like "go home to mommy" and "he doesn't have a life so he just comes here to bother people."
