2020 hindsight - It's about time I say this..

Since the January 6 mess, I regret the vote for Trump in 2020. Biden was a worse choice though.

I don't know the extent of the former President's culpability in the matter, but my support had dropped for him substantially after the last days of his presidency. It's clear that it is time for the country to move on into a new era of leadership that does not involve Biden nor Trump, both are bad fits for the country right now. With these scandals and potential legal entanglements likely ensuing for Trump, I honestly doubt he runs again.

For 2024, if Glenn Youngkin is not the GOP nominee, I can see myself voting 3rd party. On the Democratic side, Harris is marginally better than Biden IMO. I hope the President retires and we get a new match-up. At least Harris would bring new progressive ideas on issues. I also have a soft spot for Buttigieg. I don't think I could support either of them in the general though.

What makes Youngkin someone you could support but not DeSantis? They are virtually identical (except you could argue DeSantis is stronger on environmental issues).

He seems more moderate and pragmatic to me. DeSantis just seems too radical for me. I can also state unequivocally I won't be backing Trump again.
