Blackmailing him with a conversation in which Trump himself overstepped multiple times? No. He probably foresaw all of this.
So why did he leak them only after he was fired?
Because after he was fired for refusing to can the FBI investigation Comey feared the investigation would be compromised, and that a special prosecutor was required.
