^ While I get your frustration, the "populist right" wants people like you and me to leave the GOP.  The only way to ACTUALLY combat that and to lessen their influence and create a political party worth being a proud member of is to have more Republicans like you.

However, everyone is obviously free to do whatever he or she likes!  Just my view on the matter.
Or quit. You don't need either party.

My sentiments exactly. I vote for candidates, not for parties.

Less because of political disagreements and more because I'm not a joiner. I'll admit that I'm not happy with the direction the Republican Party has taken, but I don't really want to be a member of any formal organization, including any political party no matter how much I agree with them.
