Abraham Lincoln was our greatest President.  He saved the Union.  He freed the slaves.  He ended the Civil War.

Please do not vote off the greatest President we have ever had.

VOTE WASHINGTON TO SAVE LINCOLN!

no he didn't. He pretty much started the civil war, and oppressed all those who opposed.  He instituted a draft and income tax to help the war, and brought about the first era of big government. He trampled the Constitution and suspended the writ of habeus corpus. Just ask StatesRights or Phillip, they'll vouch for me.  That's why I proudly cast my vote for Abraham "the fascist bastard" Lincoln

Milk and cereal utters a dangerous phrase when he says he's counting on StatesRights and Philip for back up.

You guys are all crazy to go after Lincoln and Washington.  Jefferson deserves to go in this round.  Or Truman.

I vote Washington though, as he is the less great of the to men being persecuted.

hey Bono, Carl Hayden, and David S also back me up that Lincoln was not a great president.

He arrested Maryland's governor, suspended their legislature, and put the state under martial law. He spent money unconstitutionally without congressional approval. He suspended the writ of habeas corpus illegally, time and time again, and perhaps ordered the arrest of the chief justice for ruling against him.

Terrible president, terrible person.

you were aware that USA were in a civil war at time?

Show me where the provision to do those things without congress aproval in the case of a war is in the constitution.

get outside your closed minded public school education, and realize that "he saved the union" and "he freed the slaves" are myths.  Point is, he's a tyrant who overstepped his bounds time and time again.  I really don't see how he's so highly glorified.  On the other hand Washington set the tone for the presidency. He was offered a crown and turned it down.  He realised that the Constitution was the supreme law of the land and did a good job as our first president elected under the Constitution.
