Edit: I expected a dumb cartoon continuing to poke the Islamist bear in the link. I found a surprisingly interesting if not a little bit too late editorial.
The mood following the Charlie Hebdo shooting was one of shock and awe... like how could something like this happen? Leaders across all countries were matching together in a show of unity and defense of free speech.
Later on, and especially after the Brussells Bombing, these types of terrorist attacks almost felt a 'norm'... something that justs exists and the mood and response differs accordingly. I find it comparible to mass shootings in a way, the first one is a tragedy but the next ten are statistics.
