Not happening, sadly.  He's too pro-gun and too pro-oil for the national Democratic Party.

This isn't the 1970s anymore.

This, and we need him to hold the Montana seat.

Tester is the kind of guy who runs for President when it becomes clear that he can't be reelected in his home state, but hopes that he'll be a Favorite Son in the General Election.  That was Fred Harris's plan in 1972.  He knew he was a goner for re-election, so he convinced oil interests to bankroll his ill-starred Presidential campaign, which never really got off the ground.  His 1976 effort wasn't much better.

I think Tester can get re-elected, though.
