Oh yeah libertarian States is a good one. Especially people who insist that just because a state has mountains means it is libertarians.

Realigning elections and cyclic election theory are two more crackpot ideas, as is Duverger's Law.

- Bernie Sanders has support from Ron Paul supporters

I think I have seen some figures showing there is some truth to this. After all most voters are very non-ideological and don't entirely make logical decisions from an ideological PoV.

Also I suspect there are a significant number of people who have shifted their ideology from Paulesque libertarianism to left-liberalism/social democracy/moderate socialism in the intervening years.

Ohio is becoming like Missouri.

Recent trends will DEFINITELY continue infinitely into the future.

White people everywhere are realizing "I'm white. White people are supposed to vote Republican. I'd better start voting Republican now!"

People who ignore the US Senate. Sure, the Democrats will do great in presidential elections if they trade the entire Midwest for Arizona, North Carolina, and Georgia, but they'll do terribly in the Senate if they're clearly only winning a minority of states.
