Anyone with a maroon avatar that supports the Democratic Party should use a red avatar.

I'm a socialist, but I vote for the Democratic Party because I think they're slightly better than the Republicans, and those are sadly the only two relevant parties in most of the country.

If I changed my avatar though, I would change it to light green or orange.

If you vote Democratic, you aren't a socialist.

You very well can be. You just support the lesser of two evils, and a gradual path to socialism.

Yeah, this is what I support. If TNF doesn't get that, that's fine. I don't like how TNF is considered the ultimate socialist on this forum anyway.

Maroon is a shade of red.

Silly goose. Tongue

This kind of thing is why I voted HP.

Calling someone a "horrible person" is a pretty big insult when all you have against them is that they have a tendency to make stupid jokes.

People use the same word for different things.

I would wager that the vast majority of 'Socialist' posters on here advocate with things more in line with Social Democracy in the same vein as many of the left leaning Western European Parties.

In that case we would need a social democrat avatar.

To me, Socialism is essentially a synonym to 'communism' in that the person advocating for this ideology promotes the overthrow of the capitalist state and the establishment of a marxist-leninsts style of government and economics. In other words, full revolutionary change, not just 'increase the minimum wage to $15' or whatever people in Seattle are up to these days.

1. There is such a thing as democratic socialism.
2. Even if I decided that a Marxist-Leninist revolution was the best course of action (which I wouldn't, considering the outcome of such revolutions in the past), I would still vote Democratic in elections where my vote actually counts, since the chance of a revolution happening is pretty much 0%, and Democrats actually have a chance of getting elected. I'm not going to let the Republicans ruin the country on the off-chance that it might inspire some people to try to turn this country into the Soviet Union.

Of course TNF is the ultimate authority on who is and isn't a socialist. Roll Eyes

I don't know how TNF became "the" socialist on this forum, but it's really annoying.
