Leinad Calls for Debate/Interviews! Oct. 9th--I made an Official Campaign Statement about this weekend's debate and offering to do interviews with people. Read the full statement here! Leinad Attends AZ Forum! Oct. 9th--A few days ago, I had the pleasure of flying out to Nevada for AZ's Issues and Beliefs Discussion for Democracy Forum, where I answered, along with many other Atlasians running for other offices, several questions about several political issues. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with his Presidential run, but that's not my place to speculate! Read my answers here! Announcement Speech! Oct. 1st--This is the kinda stuff I've been wanting to see. I'm sure if I can think of something like this, everyone else and bring some much-needed creativity to this game in even better ways. Even if it's just ripping off my idea! (I'm not even sure if I'm the first to do this, to be honest.)

Unions: I support the organization of labor, in order to counter the oppressive power of capital. I oppose so-called "right-to-work" laws, which merely insure the right to exploit. Taxation: In order to fund a democratic government, I support methods of taxation that consider the ability to pay, such as a progressive income tax, in addition to things that curb the dangerous excesses of modern capitalism, such as the carbon tax. Likewise, an inheritance tax is important as it reduces the unearned, uncompetetive, unmeritocratic head start of generational wealth. Healthcare: Healthcare is a right, without it you have no others, because you are dead. The ability of those to profit off of healthcare is a corrupting force that ends up charging people more for worse care with more red tape. Drug Crisis: Incarceration is not the answer. Less poverty will decrease people's desire for an escape in drugs, and a criminal justice system focused on rehabilitation and working with the community will lead to addicts being treated like patients, instead of tortured like prisoners. LGBT Rights: Very important, and the battle for equality is definitely not over yet. I'll advocate against bigotry until it is no longer a thing. Minimum Wage: Freedom is being free from needing to get a second job or a payday loan to cover rent. To consider "economic freedom" the right of the employer to shortchange the employee is a perversion of what it is to be free. I support a living wage, adjusted with inflation. Public Transportation: Most places in Atlasia require a car to function in society, and having to pay for a car is a leading cause of poverty. I support funding bus systems and possibly even some rail lines to get the South moving in the right direction! I may add more things to this list in the future, this is merely a start. Regardless, you are free to ask any question you have!

Statement on Debates & Interviews

This Friday, no matter if anyone else is running, or anyone else agrees to moderate it, there will be a Southern Gubernatorial Debate. So help me Dave if I have to debate an empty chair I will show that chair what it means to ORATE!!!!!!!

Also if anyone is still doing Atlasia newspapers (those were fun!), just shoot me a PM and I'll do interviews about the South, Atlasia in general, ideology, or whatever.

Working on the inaugural address and some things to kick us off with. It's going to be, as the kids say, Mad Lit [fire emoji]!

Please assure me that you will not turn the South into a parliamentary hellhole like the other 2 regions. I voted with my feet against parliaments when I moved to the South. If you turn the South into a parliament, I will have no choice but to leave the game. I have no use for parliaments.

Parliamentary systems are a complete abomination.

The South needs to improve its own system, not become a carbon copy of the other two. I would hope that Leinad still appreciates that importance. He used to.

I'd love to try out all sorts of "crazy ideas," but honestly what's probably best is just chopping off the flexible seats/whatever I called those. There's value in having one of the governments be kinda simple.
(No promises I don't change my mind, but I definitely won't carbon-copy. If we do something crazy it'll be an idea written up by me at 5am or something.)
