Republicans win suburbs by around the same margin as they won suburbs in 1988

Rural areas vote similarly to how suburbs voted in 2016

Is NOVA included in "suburbs"?

We need your definition of "suburb" and "urban area" to really give any detailed answers.

For example, many older suburbs are nonetheless, quite dense and very urban in character.  Take, e.g., New Rochelle, NY.  You mention NOVA is "suburban."  Really?  Loudoun County- OK, I can see that.  But what about Fairfax?  Alexandria?  Alexandria is the 10th densest county in the entire US (if we count its independent city borders as a "county").

Shooting from the hip, I'd say this map is probably an R landslide, but I'd need definitions to give a better answer.

Example:

Urban Areas: Portland, Seattle
Suburbs: Beaverton , Bellevue


and no it wouldnt be a landslide cause the Rural vote would be much much close

Maybe somewhere in between Nixon 1968 and Bush 1988?
