Because jm has a seriously overinflated sense of importance and thinks I'd be "angry" at his silly idea that his type dominates my party.
I always think it's a silly idea as well, yet his prediction record on this forum is better than 90% when it comes to things like judicial appointments and the nomination of candidates.

"better than 90%"?!  What, did I go through a slump?  Wink

Yes, since 1980, the GOP candidate I have supported going into Iowa has gone on to win the nomination.  But that was probably true for 15-25% of the GOP primary voters going into 2012.

2012 is more challenging because the field is so weak, much weaker than even 2008, and there are simply no good choices, which is why we have gone from one FOTM to another in a desperate attempt to find something acceptable.

For my streak to continue in 2012, Newt has to win the nomination.  But, I am asking for a caveat this year:  since a) I’ve been calling for a late entrant (and taking a lot of flack from other posters for doing so), and b) I made it clear since 2010 that none of the candidates running (including Newt) were in my top 50…I want the option (which I may or may not choose to exercise) to switch to a late entrant (if one emerges to my liking) within 48 hours of them entering the race.  Deal?

In any case, if Newt wins FL, it’s going to be really fun to watch the establishment piss in their pants.

okay, you made your point.  I won't argue along that line anymore, but Newt will have to start rubbing me the right way over the next nine months.
Trying to become wife number four? I hear that's legal in your home state now.
