The obvious solution to this crisis would be to encourage them to form monogamous relationships.  The "family values" crowqs is complicit in this situation.

of course, it's always the fault of the biblical Christians

Not their fault alone, of course. Still, it would clearly be in the interest of public health to not just allow but encourage gay marriage. That certain Christians demonize gays and their relationships is helping to spread AIDS among gays. It's the exact opposite of "love thy neighbor."

no one who believes homosexuality is a sin actually believes it would be good for society to encourage homosexual marriage.  also, lets put the blame on the proper doorstep - the responsibility rests the person doing the deed.  period.  your argument is dumb

Just not necessarily Old Testament, where "one man, one woman" wasn't really the model.

"one man, one woman" originated in the Old Testament, and "one man, one woman" is the model for the New Testament.  Not to mention that "one man, one man" was NEVER the model, regardless of the timeframe; rather it was uniformally condemned.

Give me one example where Christ condoned sin in the name of “love thy neighbor”.  Christ preached “what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36)

Your logic is totally contrary to Mark 8:36.

"one man, one woman" originated in the Old Testament

But it wasn't the only model. Marriage in the OT is a chamber of horrors, really.

but since it was the original model and since that original model is the New Testament model, and since homosexual marriage was NEVER part of any model....what is your point, exactly, in regard to the topic of this thread, other than you don't have a point?

My point is that people define "biblical values" as meaning a lot more than "no same-sex marriage," and to the exclusion of lots of true biblical values. Otherwise, why argue that same-sex marriage opens the door to polygamy? That's my point.

you've got the wrong car, McFly...I've never made that argument.  Also, what biblical values am I excluding?  we've already gone over the point that Jesus never condoned immorality because evil always promotes more harm, both in this life and in eternity.  so, if you don't want me commenting, then stop misusing scripture.

---

Personally I don't care, I don't need biblical sanction to sustain my faith and belief in same-sex marriage. I regret that you can't understand it, but perhaps someday you will open your eyes and mind.

i fully understand that, I was simply pointing out that you were bastardizing "love thy neighbor" in order to promote something the scripture condemns.

You're mixing me up with someone else, I think.
