It's a paradox that uninformed idiots voting might end up destroying democracy, as this was THE key conservative objection to democracy as a form of government (mob rule) back in the day. It would seem that democracy is indeed eating itself.

The question is, how do you solve it in the short and median run? You basically would have impose "vote tests", in which basic questions are being asked. Anyone who fails to reach a certain score isn't allowed to vote or their ballots are nullified. Ergo, less turnout and not more.
