The speaker doesn't have to be a congressman himself and thw House is more likely to flip than not. Trump definitely would have the votes on the floor then. Even if the majority is relatively close after all Trump critics will have retired or lost their primary.
Becoming speaker would once again give Trump a public platform and status as de facto opposition leader to the Biden Admin. It would also give him more attention for another WH bid. And we all know how much Mr. Trump is addicted to attention. His greatest fear is irrelevance.
I know that sounds crazy, but considering it took the GOP just 3 weeks to fully turn back to a man who is guilty of insurrection, I would no longer rule it out entirely.
