LOL! That's what we still needed, an 80 year old dude with a few billions on the bank who creates zero enthusiasm. Seriously, if he really launches a full scale campaign, why is he doing this? I mean, he can't really expect to go anywhere?

I have nothing against him personally, but wished he stayed out of the race. I predict his campaign won't go anywhere, no matter how much the dude is spending. Sure, I would vote for him in a GE as Dem nominee, but other Dem candidates are better.

His nomination would be funny to troll Mr. Trump, though, because Bloomberg is a lot of things Mr. Trump likes to be, or pretends to be. But I would be concerned about his electability due to a lack of excitement. And I'm not just talking about Sanders supporters he would have a hard time with.

Since he's now doubling spending, I wonder how much the dude will actually have spent in total if he ends up the nominee? More than a billion for sure.

Anyone want to take a stab at explaining how endorsing Bush in '00 and '04 is consistent with the talking point that 'he's totally always been a liberal democrat guiz'

Didn't Trump endorse Gore in 2000 and Kerry in 2004? He was a registered Dem at the time probably voted for them. It would be hilarious if they face off in November.

My hope is that Bloomberg and Sanders can take each other out, allowing someone else to rise up to the top. Anyone would be better than those two.

I tend to agree. Now, I would support both Bloomy and Sanders in the GE b/c they're far better than the current Dumpsterfire in the WH. BUT I think both would, as nominee, face serious backlash from certain segments of the party and the electorate that may put victory perspectives into jeopardy. Sanders will certainly alienate swing voters in suburban districts that helped to flip the House in 2018. Bloomberg is disliked by progressives, grassroots activists and will probably suffer from weak youth turnout. Even some leftists who would be willing to vote for Biden or Butti in the end struggle with Mr. 60 Billion $. I'm not sure whether each Sanders or Bloomberg can make these losses up with their own constituents. Trump can easily go after each one, dennoucing Sanders as dangerous socialist who wants America to turn into Venezuela 2.0, and Bloomberg as out-of-touch neoliberal hack, who is a puppet of global elites wanting to ship jobs overseas, trying to buy his way into the WH.

I think it would be much safer to nominate Biden, Warren, Butti or Klobuchar. Each of them has flaws, but fewer risks than Sanders and Bloomberg.

LOL, the dude's net worth on Forbes is now 64.2 billion (link). It was 62.8 billion last week and 61.8 billion last month. He's spending 380 million dollars since November and his net worth increases week by week? Ugh.

If you were wondering why a sizable share of Democrats still believes in Schiff's lies even after Mueller's report, here is an answer. Because it's working.

If Mike goes up after yesterday's debate, ya'll know why Roll Eyes

Yup, it's despicable how he's trying to capitalize on these ads. Mr. Stop-and-frisk didn't even endorse Obama in 2008. 2012 endorsement was only at the very last minute. He called Obamacare a disaster and opposed minimum wage hike. I'm not buying his apologies for stop and frisk and harassment either. Hopefully the debate helped to put a spotlight on his many problems. I'm still somewhat hopeful one of Biden, Butti or Warren gets nominated, but if this dude and Sanders are the last men standing, I'm with Sanders. At least he's been consistent and doesn't imply Obama endorsed him.

500 - 700 million.

I wonder if he feels it was worth it.

I'm sure he does.  That includes paid staff through November and the development of a sophisticated data operation that Democrats can use.

This highly "sophisticated data operation" help him a lot  Roll Eyes

I heard the same in 2016, when Crooked inherited Obama's "sophisticated data operation". It is about Candidate and Policies, stupid!

Firstly, Bloomberg was a terrible candidate.  However, that data operation did combined played a significant role and taking him from 1% to receiving a signfiicant amount of votes yesterday.

To you last point, yes candidate quality matters.  Biden is a much better candidate than Bloomberg (both in the primary and the general).  The data operation will help him immensely, and help Democrats up and down the ballot in November.

Yup, this is what I'm thankful for. I was never a huge Bloomberg fan, but if he can help us win with ressources, money and staffers, that's great. We need everything possible to beat Mr. Trump. Bloomberg is with us on this and willing to help.
