LOL Rick Scott. That would be a fraud/fraud ticket. Though I doubt he is being selected. It’ll be either Gingrich or Sessions. Fallin and Corker with outsider chances.

I posted this already, but can be mentioned here as well:

This article about the potential VP picks on both sides is interesting. Says that Kaine and Corker are the most likely choices.

Allow to paraphrase any of jfern's screeds.

"something something, Hillary... *primal scream* "

We get it, you don't care about Hillary's corruption and her negative 22 point favorable rating.

Still better than Drumpf's Tongue

Honestly, I doubt that the convention would accept Ivanka.

And by the way, is such a ticket even lawful? As far as I know, it is illegal to have direct relatives of the president in the administration. I think that was outlawed shortly after RFK left (who was, of course, appointed Attorney General by his brother). Or does this only apply to cabinet secretaries and not the VP?

While Trump is in Miami on Friday, he’ll be visiting Rick Scott’s home:

http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/vp-watch-latest-veepstakes-n605681

Scott has already said that he’s not interested, but I suppose there’s always some chance of bait and switch.

The same link talks about the Clinton veepstakes as well, noting that Kaine will campaign with Clinton on Thursday the 14th, when she’s in Virginia.  It’ll be their first time on the trail together since the Virginia primary.

Mr. Drumpf, please select this corrupt dude. A fraud/fraud ticket would make history!

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/07/09/a-curveball-in-trumps-veep-search-hes-seriously-considering-a-retired-general/?postshare=6911468082970714&tid=ss_tw

"After weeks of focusing on a group of current and former elected officials in his search for a running mate, Donald Trump is increasingly intrigued by the idea of tapping retired Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn in order to project strength and know-how on national security, according to four people familiar with the vetting process."

"The shift in how Trump is evaluating his short list is driven by his growing sense that he does not necessarily want or need a running mate who will satisfy Republican insiders, in spite of long saying that he would likely go in that direction. Instead, and after some testy exchanges with GOP lawmakers during his visit to Capitol Hill on Thursday, Trump is more open than ever to going with a non-politician."

Well, Flynn is likely not hurting that much because he has no political ballast. He was fired by President Obama, that could actually help the Trumpster with Republicans. But the fact that he's a registered Democrat may hurt him with staunch GOPers, but may help again with anti-Clinton Democrats. It would be a total unpredictable choice, since it is also unclear how Flynn would perform on the campaign trail. He never ran for office. But quite frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump makes such a choice.

LOL, Pence would likely get reelected to the governor’s chair but choses to run with the thin-skinned narcissist. Something that may end his career once they’re defeated in November.

Well, maybe the whole speculation about the Trumpster’s VP is just nothing; or mainly a move by Trump to stay on the news. New names are put out each week or even on a daily basis. I wouldn’t be surprised if he came up with a total wildcard, someone not or just barely mentioned. Jan Brewer, Pete Ricketts, Matt Mead, John Thune, Scott Walker, Tim Scott, Kelly Ayotte or a little known congressman/congresswoman for example. Who knows? It’s Trump.

This might be a dumb question, but why can't Pence file that he is running for reelection, then drop out if he gets the VP nod?

Probably because of ballot access. The parties must submit their candidates till that deadline. Ballots probably can’t be changed afterward, so Pence’s name would remain on paper although he’s not running any longer. The GOP candidate who replaces him would have to ask for write-in votes (if that’s possible in IN). Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but sounds logical to me.

Essentially, he canceled all of this because he falsely believed this was another ISIS attack. Turns out it wasn't; Manafort said he "emotionally reacted" to events; Pence is left waiting and no one has any idea of what is going on. Face it, Trump is emotionally unstable and totally unfit to be President.

Of course he is. And he's a fraud, who has no clue about governing. He can't even run a campaign. No ground operation, no funding, no nothing. His whole campaign organization is a laughingstock.

Sounds like no action will be taken against him for this though.  Sebelius did the same several years ago, and nothing happened to her.

Even if nothing will be done against him, he’s likely out. Too sad, I have to change my sig. Who endorse now for VP? I think I’ll go with Kaine.

Kaine is by far the better and safer choice than more conservative and low-profile Vilsack. He has experience as governor and senator (therefore on national security and foreign policy).

Booker would also be good, just like Kaine, though I'm worried for the senate majority. Just hope it won't be Vilsack.

As a Republican, I'm disappointed that she did not pick Castro. He gave us the best chance of winning.

I don't want to disappoint you, but if you want to win, your party picked the wrong dude Wink
