I'm ignorant when it comes to Canadian politics.  Could someone give me an American equivalent for the Tories, Liberal, and NDP?  Is Bloc basically like the SNP in the UK?  What is the Christian Heritage Party- I was talking to a Canadian who said he was voting for them?

God damn man. You can't figure out who the Liberals and Conservatives are? Why are you even on this board?

With Liberals and Conservatives I really just meant relative to the GOP and Democrats.  I obviously knew which they were in relation to each other!

This is really a lot like the British elections, where everyone expected a Minority Government, but one party had an unexpected wave.  Granted, it was on the other side in Canada, and I don't know the dynamics of the races (especially in Canada).
