NYT article came out. Seems conservative judges are united on this issue. Looking like the undemocratic and disgustingly racist citizenship question will be on the census after all. Yuck.

I think the affects are being overblown by many, although I still disagree about having the question on there.

Looks like their could be a delay due to the new evidence.

There will certainly be no delay in the ruling just because some MD judge is pissed off.

The SC will rule today, tomorrow or next week already because census forms have to be printed in early July.

This isn't just "some MD judge," this is the judge that originally heard the case.

He's one of 5 or so judges who dealt with random census whining cases ...

The SC should not (and very likely will not) consider this whining and go ahead with their ruling.

No need to jeopardize the census operation with a delayed ruling (as I have said, the census forms need to be printed).

It looks pretty compelling that the decision will be delayed due to the Hofeller evidence.

It's going to be extremely difficult to get a valid explanation in and then add in the question considering it's already June 27th and the deadline is June 30th...

President Sh!t-for-brains gives up the game:

Responding to reporters outside the White House on Friday, Trump said the question was necessary “for many reasons.”

“Number one, you need it for Congress — you need it for Congress for districting,” Trump said. “You need it for appropriations — where are the funds going? How many people are there? Are they citizens? Are they not citizens? You need it for many reasons.”

This totally flies in the face of the Commerce Dept's reasons for the questions,  which is to better enforce the voting rights act.  

This also completely goes in conjunction with what the Hofeller files suggest - that adding the question would benefit Republican areas in both Redistricting and Federal funding.

I know “constitutional crisis” gets thrown around a lot, but...

I fully expect the Supreme Court to uphold any executive order. 

There is zero reason for them to uphold it.   The administration has done literally nothing to resolve the previous issues in the case that struck it down.

Seems like the April and July 2021 dates would mess with states like Virginia and New Jersey that hold elections that year supposedly with the new maps.

Could they just reuse the old maps again or is that illegal?
