Yea, that's true. I've always had an active social life, but, honestly, for the longest time I wasn't interested in romantic relationships, so I think I'll be fine long-term. Hopefully something pops up in the future but I'll try just to keep living my life until then.

If this person was willing to do that to you, she/he was never a true friend to begin with. Even if he/she didn't feel comfortable being friends with you anymore (which is their right), she/he should at least have told you so upfront. Ghosting is just plain cruel.

(Have never been ghosted myself, thankfully.)

That's true

Today I learned there are more Arabs in congress than I though:

Justin Amash, Darrell Issa, Gwen Graham, Charles Boustany, Ralph Abraham, Garret Graves

I'm just glad we're being represented at least.

Robert Pittenger's wife's family is Lebanese and Darin LaHood is part Lebanese as well, via Ray LaHood.

So I taught my first three discussion sections as a TA today. It was only the most basic stuff - introductions, presentation of the class, etc.

It... exceeded my expectations, which is to say I didn't screw up too bad. Hopefully I'll get better soon though.

Nice! I taught my first discussion section today too. I was pretty awkward, but I seemed to be able to keep the discussion going and a few people even expressed genuine interest in office hours (which is apparently unusual for Poli Sci 101).

Oh wow, that's a cool coincidence! Congrats! Smiley

My class is the intro to Comparative Politics, so pretty basic too. My students weren't obnoxious, and a few of them definitely looked like they'd be interested, but this week was just introductions and I did most of the talking, so I have no idea what participation will be like. That's my biggest fear.

I loved intro to comparative politics when I took it in college. Like you said, its a basic course, but it opened up a whole new realm of policy and systems to explore afterwards.

I hope a lot of people participate in your class Smiley

My 13 year old dog had three seizures during dinner and another four afterwards. We had to put him down tonight. I almost lost it as they injected "the Michael Jackson juice" (that is literally what the nurse called it! Made me laugh though) but he went peacefully. Even in death, he still made me laugh when he pissed on my shoe as he took his last breaths. It wasn't as bad as I expected it to be, but my youngest brother has been crying on and off all night and every time I hear his choked sobs in the other room I start crying too.

On a lighter note, Roseanne Barr retweeted me. I guess we have a Twitter correspondence now? This is like the tenth time. I love her.

I'm sorry to hear, Chairman Sad

The last 4 months have flown by so fast and I'm glad. 2016 has been a year of extreme ups and downs and I'm looking forward to a fresher start in 2017.

The publisher just accepted my novel (the one I wrote in English).

Best news I've ever received.

congrats!

I'm extremely fcked up right now and not in a good way.  Where to begin

> Still getting stalked, but the dumb bitch who's doing it basically incriminated herself by texting my mom and calling her an "old hag" and a bunch of other stuff whilst denying that she has any idea who my mother is, what she looks like, her gender, age, etc.
> More fraudulent bills and credit card charges
> My college is charging me $10k for the semester I missed last spring and that's fcking up my credit score, despite the school psychiatrist telling us "not to worry"
> I'm missing yet ANOTHER semester because of all of this
> I'm still trapped in this fcking hotel
> Still haven't found a house in NC and haven't been able to
> Mom's becoming even sicker because her doctor in CT not only ignored her, but mocked her and didn't believe her when she started getting sick
> Now we have to sue him for the damages he's caused us
> Oh yeah, and we're getting sued for missed charges (my mom paid these bills, but they ended up at one of the stalkers' address)
> Somebody impersonated me and scheduled a no-show phone appointment with some doctor I never met, and we're getting charged for it
> My uncle doesn't care anymore and has basically abandoned us as family
> No end in sight
> I feel like sht
> I want to ing end it now
> Pills aren't helping me cope
> Nothing is
> I hope this c**nt rots in hell along with everyone else
> This is why I usually sound bitter as hell here in case that wasn't obvious
> I can't even vent about this on Facebook without someone getting paranoid and telling my entire extended family

I don't know what to do anymore.  I just don't.

Like everyone else has said, I'm sorry to hear you are going through this. feel free to message me if ever need too.

Weirded out. Someone, about maybe an hour ago, asked me "how are you and X doing?" "...I'm not dating her." "I know. She has a boyfriend." Such had been the reason why I stopped hanging out with X; it was something I hadn't been told by her, and there was no reason to continue fooling myself otherwise. In any case, I'm not sure how strange I should think it that someone who knows that X is dating someone would ask me how I and X are doing.

Yea, that's really weird and odd. Reminds me when my friends tried to push my and my other friend together. We never went out and after years of being bothered about it, I asked her out and she turned it into a whole dramatic no.

Still close friends, but nowhere near as close before and I'm honestly not bothered by it. Our friendship was taking the burden of other people's desires and wants and it finally took its toll a bit. The whole drama surrounding me asking her out got everyone to shut up about it once and for all.
