They're cancelling her because of her conservative beliefs.

This, but unironically.  Cheney is much more conservative than Stefanik according to the Heritage Foundation rankings, for example.  It's mind-curdling to watch partisan Democrats come to the defense of Cheney in this instance.
Cheney doesn't deserve any defense, and I agree. And yes, any reasonable comparative ranking has to consider Stefanik more moderate than Cheney.
Stefanik may be a shameless careerist but I can hardly muster any sympathy for Cheney being thrown overboard regardless. She made her bed. Now she has to sleep in it.

No matter how you personally feel about Liz Cheney, everyone should be appalled at what is happening right now. She's being ousted for simply telling the truth.

It's unfortunate that that is what is taking her out, but as she long as she is being taken out I am happy.

Bye bye!

Delicious infighting remains delicious:

It's too bad that this piece sticks to quoting fringe media outlets and political entertainers, because there is a more compelling version of this story to be told from Stefanik's political history. There was a time when she went out of her way to appear in nationally published photos with Paul Ryan.

This is what many are missing right now: The typical mainstream coverage of Stefanik takes the sincerity of her MAGA posturing for granted when in reality she is basically a value-free apparatchik doing whatever it takes to move up a rung in the party hierarchy.

You do have to wonder whether Trump's political aesthetic can sustain itself for long as a compelling form of populism after being so thoroughly adopted by the Republican half of the political class. From the outside, it still looks like demagoguery, but at the same time it has become a new form of political pablum to be echoed by any ambitious Republican, every bit as empty as a liberal bureaucrat talking about Building An Inclusive Future or Engaging Our Stakeholders.
Good post.
