Democratic gerrymander in Oklahoma

52% White, 19.3% Black, 17.0% Hispanic, 4.3% Native, 2.4% Asian, 5% Other
53.5–46.5% Obama, average 58.9% D
2012/2016 D+2.37
It's possible to actually get a majority minority seat in Oklahoma. It's McCain voting but heavily D downballot.

6-district Oregon proposal

The nice thing about this map is that it creates three competitive seats, there are two strong D seats and one strong R seat, and three swing districts.

District 1 – 72.9% White, 14.1% Hispanic, 7.7% Asian, 1.5% Black, 0.6% Native
59.3% Obama, 38.6% McCain
D+8.39

District 2 – 81.3% White, 12.7% Hispanic, 2.1% Native, 1.1% Asian, 0.5% Black
55.9% McCain, 42.0% Obama
R+12.87

District 3 – 71.5% White, 10.4% Hispanic, 7.4% Asian, 6.0% Black, 0.8% Native
79.9% Obama, 18.0% McCain
D+31.58

District 4 – 85.5% White, 7.4% Hispanic, 1.9% Asian, 1.3% Native, 0.7% Black
54.5% Obama, 43.2% McCain
EVEN

District 5 – 80.3% White, 12.5% Hispanic, 3.2% Asian, 0.8% Black, 0.7% Native
52.4% Obama, 45.7% McCain
R+0.9

District 6 – 79.1% White, 13.4% Hispanic, 2.6% Asian, 1.3% Native, 0.8% Black
52.8% Obama, 44.9% McCain
R+0.87

I tried to eliminate the ridiculous gerrymander of District 5 by moving most of Tillamook County to the 1st district, and also made the 3rd entirely within Multnomah County.
Is it really a good idea splitting Lane, Douglas and Jackson counties?

The issue would be fixed easily by putting all of Summit County in the Dem district and shifting some of its most conservative areas in CD 3, then evening out the population of CDs 3 and 4.

Here's a new Tennessee

District 1 (Blue): R+28.2, current R+28
District 2 (Green): R+19.1, current R+20
District 3 (Purple): R+19.3, current R+18
District 4 (Red): R+24.0, current R+20
District 5 (Yellow): D+4.5, current D+7
District 6 (Turquoise): R+20.5, current R+24
District 7 (Gray): R+20.5, current R+20
District 8 (Light Purple): R+16.2, current R+19
District 9 (Light Blue): D+22.4, current D+28

Out of curiosity, why chop both Hamblen and Hawkins between CD 1 and 2? It's always possible to replace it with one chop in one of those two counties. The same question applies to CD 4 and 6, between 4 and 7, and between 7 and 8.

A West Virginia plan using 2020 population estimates, considering that the state is likely to lose a District.

Current PVI of Redrawn Districts:

1: R+19.18
2: R+19.75
What would the most pro-Dem gerrymander possible look like for West Virginia?
String together Morgantown and the collection of more dem voting counties all the way down to Mingo County. Split Kanawha.

That's not the new Firefox. One of the joys of DRA was that anyone could use it. No one who's not already a devoted election map geek is gonna go to the bother of installing an old version of a browser just to run DRA. By the time the 2020 Census data is ready, and preferably sooner, we need a DRA anyone can use again.
Not disagreeing. But for those in the know, they can easily download extended release and use that until that stops working, no?

You mean, post on this forum? Print screen, then use the gallery. You could include the results on the image itself, like I typically did.

This is one style in which you could do it.

I thought you would dislike WA-09 the most, considering it stretches from the Tri-Cities to Seattle.
This is a partisan hack-style gerrymander and all...

Well aside from the tri cites gerrymander it’s not that bad. But I don’t like WA-8 since my guy Dino Rossi probably wouldn’t win I need WA-8 Sad.
Reichert survived a seat about this heavily Democratic in 2008. It's not completely unwinnable for a good R candidate (especially a strong Republican incumbent) in a favorable year. It would come down to candidate quality I guess? Though the Dem trend in the past 10 years and the low white VAP certainly hurt a lot.

No idea. Try replicating it in DRA.

An "even" 3-district Oregon

Yellow: D+22; 72% White, 4% Black, 12% Hispanic, 8% Asian, 1% Native; Incumbents: Blumenauer, Bonamici
Blue: EVEN; 79% White, 1% Black, 14% Hispanic, 3% Asian, 1% Native; Incumbents: Schrader, Walden
White: R+9; 84% White, 1% Black, 9% Hispanic, 1% Asian, 2% Native; Incumbent: DeFazio
What would a Democratic gerrymander and a Republican gerrymander look like?

Just for fun, I decided to take LimoLiberals gerrymander, and gerrymander it up even more.

Population difference of 79.

District 1: D+3.42
District 2: D+2.95

More horrifying than a Stephen King book.
Wait, MD avatar?
Ok, that looks normal.
