My father is a very, very, very moderate business Republican who I have successfully convinced to vote for Sanders next year. My mom is also a registered Republican, but she's completely apathetic to everything political and is probably around as moderate as my father (if not more so). They have both expressed a desire to re-register as Independents.
I'm pretty sure my paternal grandfather was some sort of Rockefeller Republican (he was very politically active locally and even ran for mayor once), but from what I recall, my paternal grandmother was a pretty generic NY/NJ Jew (and hence, obviously, a Democrat).
I'm not really sure about my maternal grandparents, but my best guess (based off of their religion, geopolitical area, and personality) is that they were both fairly apathetic liberals (possibly socialist, many Jews are). I'm not sure how they registered, though (the GOP was much less conservative back when they were alive, obviously).
So I'm more liberal than my parents and at least one of my grandparents; not sure about the others.
