UPDATE REGARDING CAMPAIGN STAFF

In response to the conflict between CC and SSWR: As I said earlier, the timeline unfortunately has to disregard any claims to real campaign staff by the candidates in order to keep things fair (you can't pick your own endorsements whenever you feel like it ). However, you are allowed to create, announce, and make stories regarding fictional campaign staff. Please do not get into unnecessarily disputes; this matter has already been decided and we're all friends here at the 2016 Presidential Election Interactive Timeline!

UPDATE REGARDING POLLING

I sincerely apologize for the long wait and will get the polls in to those who have ordered them ASAP. They're really hard to make!! For those of you who haven't bought polls yet, please note that the price has been lowered to 1 CP. For this price, you can get all statewide polls/percentages and representative maps that show both which candidates are winning in each state and how you are doing personally in each state. Buying the polls will help immensely in creating a strategy for where to put your CPs; the map that shows your current position in each state is especially helpful.

A Short Reminder on Campaign Staff Policy

Due to recent conflicts between participants regarding who gets what campaign staff (essentially, you don't get to choose who endorses you whenever you want), this timeline unfortunately has to disregard any claims to real-life campaign staff members. However, you are welcome to make your own fictional campaign staff and write about them if you so choose.

A Short Reminder on Polling Policy

A polling package is currently 1 CP. Each package comes with detailed statewide primary polling for each of the 50 states along with maps that show who is winning in each state and how well you are personally doing in each state. The polls are updated at the end of every round, meaning that the ones currently for sale are updated as of the end of Round 1 (the round where I allocated your CPs based off of home state, ideologically similar states, and bordering states). I recommend you buy them before posting your allocations so you can do so strategically.

A Short Reminder on Time Limits

You had 48 hours that started when I posted the second part of the Round 2 Introductory Post at 05:37:51 pm EST yesterday. That means you have until 05:37:51 pm EST tomorrow to get your CP allocations in. If you do not do so, I will PM you and give you an additional 12 hours but that's it! You cannot edit your CP allocations from now on.

An Update Regarding This Interactive Timeline

Recently, it has been brought to my attention that this timeline is really sh!tty. Unfortunately, that analysis is probably true. While I did want this timeline to be different than others and based more off of strategy than the mere whims of the moderator, I can now see that a big part of all good interactive timelines that I did not quite understand is the ability of players to make campaign schedules, policy speeches, town hall meetings, interviews, etc. for their candidates. In order to fix this error of mine and make the timeline more interesting for all involved, I will start offering CP incentives for creating schedules, meetings, speeches, interviews, etc. I hope that this will fix our currently faulty timeline and make it an overall better experience for all of the candidates. Later today, I will post another update regarding the specifics for how you can earn extra CPs for doing extra things. Thank you, and I apologize for the horrible timeline and hope that this makes it better.

Just kidding! You're doing just fine as moderator. This is the first interactive TL I have played in, so it's not like I'm used to playing it differently. And so what if it's a different format? It should make for an interesting TL. I'm still totally excited and engaged in the game.

Big Intimidating Update

So clearly, this ITL has recently been suffering a host of drop-outs and the format doesn't seem to be extremely popular. Thanks to everyone who still wishes to actively participate, especially those of you who have been helping me by giving suggestions and encouragement.

Initially, I wanted to try something fun and new for this timeline, though clearly, I was pretty unsuccessful. Though I'm going to keep it running as long as possible, I and some others I have been talking with think it may be a good idea to start over with the regular ITL format. You can keep your candidates, all speeches, etc. but the ITL would operate as the other, more successful ones do and there wouldn't be any of the weird stuff that seems to be unpopular. What are your thoughts on this reform?

It's got my support. Would we start at the beginning of Round 2?

We would restart the timeline from the beginning, though you guys would already have your acceptance speeches, campaign staff, and other speeches (if you made them) ready. So we would virtually have nothing to make up and could proceed as normal.
