Looks like most of the uncalled precincts are in the Orleans area, with only a few stragglers in the North and West yet to be finalized.

Looks like the only remaining parishes with potential to flip are Vernon, Terrebonne, Plaquemines, and Jefferson. Otherwise, the map is pretty much set.

Any thoughts on whether Dardenne or Angelle will endorse Vitter? It seemed unlikely after recent events...

Could either of them possibly endorse Edwards? Maybe Dardenne?

Plaquemines and Jefferson called for Vitter.

Only nine more parishes to go, and only one more tossup (Terrebonne).

How in the world did Edwards win Livingston parish?

There were kind of three major Republicans who split around 75% of the vote for themselves. So it's not like the Democrats are doing well there, it's just the spoiler effect.

But Edwards still got ~25%, which is a good deal better than Obama's 16%...

It's not a surprise, though. Edwards is a fairly conservative white Southern Democrat and Obama is, well, Obama.

Seems like Dardenne will endorse JBE tomorrow morning. That's what people are saying on Twitter at least.

Yay!

Has Angelle endorsed yet? If he does, it will probably be for Vitter, but still...

Angelle hasn't endorsed anyone to my knowledge.

Sounds like something somebody would say before announcing a drop-out.

TBH, one of my least favorite things about Louisiana politics is the names of the major politicians. John Kennedy, John Edwards, you name it - yes, they come with different middle names, but still... Tongue

^ Unless turnout is worse than the primary and only a few rich people Uptown vote, Vitter would never carry Orleans Parish.

Atlas colors (read the title)

How would it possibly be that bad?  Did Obama drop down and decide to run for governor or something?

Reminds me of what happened a few days before Kentucky...

Anyway, I'm maintaining my 55-45 Vitter win prediction.
