History - including recent history - has done a marvelous job of showing us that hawkish =/= right wing, and dovish =/= left wing.

Exactly. Foreign policy operates on a political plane almost completely divorced from domestic politics - you have people of all political stripes being nationalists/internationalists or isolationists/interventionists.

Actual progressives aren't crazy hawks.
Actual progressives don't form personality cults.

Several states did the same thing to the Greens last time. It's (d)emocracy in action

If all states just implemented RCV that wouldn't be an issue.

Ideally, the entire Electoral College would be abolished and a direct popular vote system established, with a runoff election in case no candidate reaches 50%.
You're right, but the problem is that this isn't a priority to the duopoly as it threatens their power.

Russia's long history of aggressive expansion is the main reason that NATO exists.

Wrong, you’re talking about USSR but that doesn’t exist anymore. Every expansion of NATO after the 80s was pointless and made simply to antagonize Russia instead of putting them as allies.

Imagine if to this day you still geopolitically antagonized Germany as if they were still Nazi Germany? Americans never really got over with the fact that Cold War ended because that was the main propaganda - ideological and moral - justification for US Imperialism (“Whoever isn’t aligned with us is COMMUNIST!”) so nowadays they simply create artificial enemies for that purpose.

Russia alone by itself is so irrelevant these days that US just looks weaker by being so obsessed with them and positioning them as competitors lol. At least China is a direct rival so I get it, but there’s no excuse for US to be so butthurt regarding Russia other than going through an identity crisis.
