Sad to see Obama is punishing Cubans in Cuba for the fact that their American compatriots voted Republican. I always thought the humanitarian Messiah went around the world saying collective punishment is illegal and illegitimate or something like that? Pretty disgusting he wants to close the borders in his last days as president. What a bigot. "Say it loud, say it clear, refugees are welcome here!"

Sad to see Obama is punishing Cubans in Cuba for the fact that their American compatriots voted Republican.

The did not. Even the most hardcore Republican Cuban areas of Miami-Dade have swung sharply towards the Dems. And most Cubans leaving outside those are quite a bit more liberal.

Not that it would make Obama's decision right either way. But, if anything, he should have been rewarding Cubans for coming home.

Florida Cubans went 54-41 for Trump. The 2012 exit poll does not show a figure for Cubans, but given that Florida Latinos (including non-Cubans, who are around 65% of Latino voters in that state) voted 60-39 Obama and 62-35 Clinton there probably may have been a swing to the Democrats among Cubans, even if I assume the swing would be bigger among non-Cuban Latinos. However, I wouldn't say it's a sharp swing, and Cubans were still more Republican than the state overall, which is quite a feat. In the Senate race, Cubans were even more Republican (68-31) than whites (62-34) -- for obvious reasons, of course.

So in both races Cubans voted Republican. That renders factually correct my claim that Florida Cubans voted Republican, even if there may have been a swing against the Republican presidential candidate.

Absolutely disgusting. We need to open up those borders massively. Obama has been a colossal disappointment on the immigration issue.

And you voted for Trump?

If this is an elaborate joke, you've succeeded in confusing me for a long time.
Smilo isn't all about Trump because of immigration but because he views it as a patriotic movement of love.

The Democratic anti-Cuban bigotry has reached unprecedented levels. Refugees welcome!
