Another attack by buddhist Norwegians. Gee, I wonder if it has something to do with their religion.

I seriously doubt this was retribution for Jihadi John. This would have taken months to plan.

Definitely not. In general the involvement of foreign terrorist groups in attacks in Western Europe has recently been limited to contact on the internet, apart from the attacks in which the perpetrators were former foreign fighters. In principle, any committed radicalized gang with some experience in terms of weapons could have done this. I'm just amazed by the scale of it.

I think France is overreacting, using its power disproportionally. They should meet the perpetrators halfway in their demands. Time for the US to pressure islamophobic France to do so.

I find that just as appalling as you. But I also know where it comes from, and as long as we keep deluding ourselves about the causes of these attacks, they will happen again. That is my point.

France's 13-11 is Israel's 24-7. It is time for people to understand the connection between the attacks, and it is Islam. Obviously, liberal Americans do not like me saying that, but I cannot be fazed by that too much.

I'm fortunately not living in Paris but I have a lot of relatives and friends who live here. I hope they are okay.

This is obviously terrible what is currently happening. I'm literally shocked right now. This is even worse than what happened in January...

All the more tragic in its preventability. These people were thrown to the wolves by their own government.

Is it, David? Is it really? I think it's as simple as it is infuriating. This is the kind of thing that happens when you import millions of potential radicals into your homeland.

Sure, I agree 100%. Point is that this specific government cannot do much about that -- it would obviously certainly help not to take in even more of them, but the conditions that lead to this kind of attacks existed well before Hollande's government took office.
