Stop trying to put lipstick on this pig with these asterisks and bullet points -- as far as the media and the general public are concerned, all and any emails are Clinton emails.

PS: A small Clinton >=300 EV win would be a devastating loss for the Democratic Party. It would mean an open season for the GOP Congress to start impeachment proceedings against Clinton (and Kaine) even before her inauguration.

btw mails....

if anyone cares....top aides of putin got hacked and the content is all over the web.. (confirming the russian control of the ukraine rebellion)

Such a lame attempt at wikileaks, or whomever, at trying to make that outfit appear non-partisan. And perfectly timed, too, so that it would be completely buried under the Clinton email sandal.

That would be an interesting strategy -- attack a partisan FBI the way the GOP has attacked the IRS for politically motivated audits. I doubt it works, since Democrats by and large don't believe in grand conspiracies theories involving malevolent government agents. That's for the Greens and the Trumpistas.

But it is still bad news in every way: the Clinton campaign has been effectively derailed this week.

The worst thing is if this current email "scandal" turns out like the Bush DUI did in 2000* and permanently depresses her turnout. In any case, all of the election trackers will have Trump +6 any day now.

*In fact, the more I think of it, Bush would have lost outright -- PV and EV -- had the DUI story broke one week sooner than it did. Just like this email business.

I still don't see how Clinton benefits from any of this at all -- she is off message. Even if this "scandal" quietly slinks off the headlines by Monday, she still suffers for it.

Can Comey be forced out of office or compelled to resign? That would put the email business to rest once and for all.

It's telling that the foreign papers are still reporting this email investigation specifically as a "Clinton" email investigation -- their confusion likely reflects what a US voter thinks after gleaning headlines of Yahoo News, or listening to the first 40 seconds of the evening news, or trolling through online social media gossip. In that case, it remains very bad for Clinton.

And don't expect this issue to die, either. Ongoing rounds of the "Clinton" email scandal will generate headlines and editorials through Election Day. Pollsters reporting only the single-day movement from the initial FBI press release is not an intelligent reading of either the polls or the electorate.

That may be the case, but it still won't stop articles and editorials from being generated about it till election day.

Luckily the emails were about climate change issues, so the GOP has no ability to make hay of it.
