Would you rather live in Shelby County, Alabama or Detroit?

This forum does not like wealthy suburbs I see.

Which is ironic, because wealthy suburbanites probably have the highest quality of life out of any group.

These results are unreal. 

I'd much rather live a peaceful, affluent lifestyle surrounded by friendly Southern Evangelicals than have to deal with living in a highly impoverished area filled with crime, drugs, and and ghettoes. 

I get people here don't like suburbs, but I just can't fathom how someone would choose to live in Detroit over one of the richest suburbs in the country.

Why do you assume there is no crime, poverty or drugs in these types of areas?

Shelby County Poverty rate - 6.2%
Detroit poverty rate - 44.0%

I don't have data on drugs, but I bet Shelby County would be much better on that too.
