Based on what he said about his great-grandfather (that he was a Stalinist thug fighting for murderous communists in the Greek Civil War) it'd be more accurate to say that it's authoritarianism and thuggery that runs in that family.
Disparaging his family how nice. 
I'm not attacking his family because he supports Trump. I'm attacking a specific member of his family because he killed people for a horrible organization and terrible cause.
I'm sure things aren't so clear cut, especially during the 40's when communist was a viable alternative, and played a role in defeating Nazism.
