Yes, I think one of the things this shows is how Fox 'News' wants to have it both ways.
Prior to this, Bill O'Reilly had been found to have told multiple lies, just like Brian Williams. Yet, while Brian Williams was removed from hosting the NBC's network news (relegated to MSNBC), Fox just shrugged its shoulders.
Yet, when conservative and Fox 'News' people pointed to the treatment by some Democrats, including at times, by President Obama and then to the way President Trump is treating the major news networks and publications, they point to this treatment of Fox 'News' and claim Democrats also didn't treat serious news outlets 'properly' at times.
I realize that O'Reilly is supposedly a commentator or something and not an unbiased journalist, but I think they are clearly trying to have it both ways. Either they are a serious news network and the behavior of their journalists matter, or they are a partisan outfit for propaganda and entertainment purposes, and the behavior of their journalists aren't actually important and they shouldn't be regarded as the equivalent of the major news networks or, for instance, the New York Times or the Washington Post.
