I wouldn't be so sure about that. Once the Middle-East goes to absolute hell (Iraq at the center!), and more nations begin to produce nuclear weapons unchecked, we can just look back at the Republicans who control all areas of the nation...
The Democrats will win in '08 easily if they field a moderate. After eight years of an administration that plays on our fears, Americans will want to breathe the fresh air.
Though if Hillary is the candidate, you're right. The Democratic Party can kiss its ass goodbye.
