Man what a fall from grace for  Rudy Giuliani . From being the greatest mayor of NYC since at least the 60s to being an indicted criminal.

If Rudy just stayed retired , he’s have had multiple statues in NYC and he viewed as a hero

This is a nice little late present to me in the last hour of my birthday. The gift of schadenfreude is always welcome.

Happy Birthday!

Fulton County Prosecutors propose March 2024 trial date in Trump Georgia case

Quote
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has proposed a trial commencement date of March 4, 2024, in former President Donald Trump's Georgia election interference case, a court filing showed on Wednesday.

https://www.reuters.com/legal/fulton-county-prosecutors-propose-march-2024-trial-date-trump-georgia-case-2023-08-16/

I wonder whether Trump is going to spend more time in court or on the trail next spring and whether crowd sizes of his rallies or protesters in front of the courts will be bigger. This is so insane, since in any regular election cycle or any regular candidate would have been done after one charge, let alone 91 and counting.

Trump would legally be required to be in court during the Trial so he wouldn’t be able to do rallies while the trial is going on .

Maybe on weekends when court is not in session but other than that , he won’t be able to do rallies while the trial is going on .

That's what I meant, he'll be pending between one court hearing after another and the campaign trail. Or just come out of the court building, move a few miles to hold a rally and then massively insult the judge, prosecuters and witnesses by calling them childish names. Potentially rile up the crowd that all above people and their families need extra police protections. That's what I expect at this point. The guy has no shame and is completely over his head, especially when he feels cornered.

Anyway this is why the whole whataboutism with Hillary or other presidential candidates doesn’t work as Trump is the only one who under investigation:

- Refuses to listen to his lawyers

- brags about committing crimes in public and openly incriminates himself

- is a complete idiot

Like obviously it’s gonna be easier to indict a person who does these things than someone who listens to their lawyer , keeps quiet about their cases in public and isn’t moronic enough to incriminate themselves .

That angry looking mugshot is not going to gain him any sympathy. That's a screw up.

It'll be interesting to see how each side interprets the pic.  He looks defeated and worn out to me.

I actually wonder if Trump even would do well in a debate these days as he may not be able to think that quick on his feet anymore . If that is the case then attending the debate would result in a massive pile on against him and really smash the idea that he’s “alpha”.

Chesbro pleads "Guilty"
https://edition.cnn.com/2023/10/20/politics/kenneth-chesebro-georgia-election-subversion

Mark my words: Donald Trump will be convicted. He might not go to jail but will very likely get House Arrest.

Not saying you are wrong, but how can Georgia enforce a house arrest outside of the state?

Probably having his sentences run concurrently the DC sentences and agree to have him be remanded into any location the DC court approved off

If that date held and it's with a 10+ codefendants it could last through the election I imagine. Televised.

They should stick to June and get it done before the election.

The issue is the Classified doc trials will likely be going on then .

Judge McAfee seems to be a very fair judge.  I doubt that he'll let the fact that someone is running against him affect his decision.  (Is that naive?  Maybe so, but he seems like a good judge.)

Great judge whom challenging is a shame.

What would happen if he loses while the trial is going on
