Republicans fight day and night to allow gay people to be turned away from businesses, but if a person who chooses a certain profession is discriminated against (cop), its the end of the world. Neither group should have to worry about being denied service, but it is hypocrisy to praise one and denounce the other.
Not sure if I would say that they "praise" it, but they sure create all these fing ignorant excuses to just allow it to continue (let the market deal with it, etc).
An any case, I agree with you that it definitely falls under "hypocrisy."
It is not hypocritical since in this case it was an employee who refused to serve someone, not the owner of the restaurant and in this case since this is a chain restaurant and not some restaurant which is only located in one or two towns they shouldn't be allowed to refuse people service either .
Lastly and most important in the case of the baker who refused to bake the gay cake , it was the GOVERNMENT that punished him for those actions , here it was someone who learned the consequences from their boss. The equivalent of this situation to the one of the baker would be if , due to his actions people stopped coming to his bakery and he went out of business.
