Trump "asked"...he didn't "hope."
He was asking a question, not giving an order.

Guys, Trumpy was just asking for gosh's sake. Why do you mind that poor old guy just asking his subordinates to clear him? Just, for gosh's sake, like him asking Comey to drop the Flynn investigation. What obstruction of justice? HE WAS JUST ASKING, FOR GOSH'S SAKE!
