This is far more serious than some minor Trump joke, but basically, yes. Especially if no video surfaces. A video might hurt, but not audio. Remember Michelle Fields?

yup didn't even stop Trump. Not gonna say Gianaforte will benefit but I don't see Republican voters staying home tomorrow because of this.

So you're comparing someone just saying something that is obviously not true to someone actually body slamming and harming a reporter? Give me a break

That is not the point. The point is that the electorate is desensitized to this sort of thing and especially among voters who may perceive the media as elitist or some pejorative.

I hate to sound political but if Quist wins tomorrow, that will upend DC quite a bit, especially if Ossoff wins later. I'm glad Ben Jacobs is OK (and think Gianaforte DQ'd himself) but politically speaking, the GOP is going to freak out if Quist wins tomorrow. The legislative effects (plus the investigation) could be impacted.
