A cursory investigation reveals, of course, he's an evangelical fat Christian type who rails about social issues. How shocking.

Ralph Shortey, by the way, is the name. Google him, people. You'll enjoy the schadenfreude. I don't know why, but why is it that some of the loudest evangelical conservatives seem incapable of restraining themselves around children? (not all of them, of course, but it seems definitely a trope to assume that at this point, any fat loudmouthed evangelical who "spends time around children" needs to be closely monitored).
