Why do your parents say that?  Are they looking for you to be more wild?

I dunno. Perhaps statements made in anger about neighborhood kids on my lawn...

In all seriousness...(although the previous post of mine is true)...they've never really qualified their remarks about why I seem like an old person...perhaps I just come off that way...many people say that about me...

They have told me (my mom in particular) to loosen up and enjoy myself.

Time for my fiber.

We were making fun of a guy I work with the other day for eating fiber and prunes.  He's 23.

You always seemed like a loose, laid-back guy to me, so this surprises me.  I actually had you down as a subtle wiseass troublemaker.  Pretty funny how impressions can differ.

I certainly am a subtle wiseass troublemaker...as for the loose, laid back vs uptight...really differs on the situation

Hows the dog workin out?

Well, I'm glad to hear I wasn't totally wrong in my impression.  I see you as being the type of guy who can incite trouble without getting tagged for it most of the time, by getting others to do at least some of your dirty work.  And then you can enjoy the whole thing from the sidelines, and don't have to deal with getting in too much trouble.

Maybe that's why your parents think you act like an old man.  You've probably fooled them pretty well about some of the stuff you've done and been up to over the years.

These are just hunches, of course.  Let me know how close to correct they are.

My dad has a dog, but I don't.  His dog is doing great.

The first part seems pretty accurate...I tend to have the talent/ability to get what I want done without always looking like I played a major role in it occurring. If you know what I mean.

As for my parents...no deliberate attempt to fool...but then again, they don't really inquire either...but if they'd probably have some sort of strange respect for the "intelligence" necessary to carry it out.

As for the dog thing...I was grasping at the last few straws of my joke about your "love" for dogs. Ah well...time to draw up the death certificate for that one.
