He’s meaning Marxist from a cultural sense which basically means people who want to destroy a nations culture what people like the 1619 project want to do .




I'm no fan of the 1619 project but what exactly is "American" culture? Part of the appeal of this country has always been that we don't just have one overarching culture.

"America was built on slavery and white supremacy."

"No it wasn't! How dare you disrespect America!"

"Okay, then let's take down this statue idolizing a person who defended slavery."

"NO! YOU'RE DESTROYING AMERICA'S HERITAGE!"

When the people you disagree with are simpletons, and you simplify your argument down to meme status, they win.

To celebrate America's history and honor our Founding Fathers to the point that we look past their flaws (including inaction on slavery or even owning slaves) is NOT to pretend we haven't messed up as a country here or there.
